Reason Why Poverty is in abundance everywhere and it is far larger than it was fifty years ago, when The Declaration of the Universal Human Rights was eradicated as a result of excesive natural disasters and lack of access to minimal resources by the majority. Nonetheless, the major calamity comes from Man’s Will, from his indifference towards general poverty in the world, towards the pain in other humans, and not being aware that We Are all One. Since humanity, as a species, is a unity, we must evolve as that, which means together. To solve this fact it is necessary to take action right here, right now. However, the solution must not only be generated in mankind’s mind, but within his heart. In this context, the principal question is not "what could make that change and how". No my friend, the question is Who will make that change? Who will take this problem as what it really is: a problem of the whole of humanity since we are all One? And the second part of that question is not How, but When. Yes, this is the real part of the second question. When will We make this change? So we must understand, dear friends, that we are all involved in this issue since it is our responsibility to take care of what has been given to us... The Planet Earth. And of course, to take care of us, which is: take care of humanity. So these are our answers: Who will make that change? We will. When will I make that change? Here and Now. Now the question for you is this: Would you like to be part of this change or would you rather leave things just as they are? We, who live in Peru, have a huge responsibility since our country has both large botanical and animal variety. However, this responsibility must be carried out with caution. It must involve all the highland towns, since they are the ones who are closest to these resources. These people must have medical support and education. However, medical support must respect Highland’s culture and its medical tradition. Arrogance from medics who think that medical tradition is obselete must be avoided. In fact, arrogance is a quality that stops human evolution. In fact, here are the patterns that are currently being exaggerated in these times. It is necessary for all of us to have an awareness of them, so that we can transform them: arrogance, addiction, prejudice, hatred, violence, victimization and shame. If we intend to take real progress to all the towns we are going to explore, it is important to change our inner attitude. This is relevant to the two questions presented above. Now, let’s be conscious of a fact that is currently repeating itself in highland towns. In both mountain chains, Huayhuash and Annapurna, highland towns are zones of extreme poverty, lack of hope and, in the case of Peru only, negligence socially, economically and politically. This fact makes the creation of terrorist groups possible, not because they want to damage people, for goodness abides in the heart of humanity, but because they feel powerless to solve their day-to-day survival problems. The terrorist movement is, as it has been since the beggining of mankind’s self recognition, the protest for a life where freedom, and his maximum equality, are not recognized. However, we do not say that there are not persons with other motivations involved in these terrorist movements. Seeing this day-to-day reality, we cannot let seclusion be part of our lives. We have to be aware of reality in those highland towns. Not because we have to, or we must, but because it is the way to evolve as a species, since we are all One. Commonly, highland’s inhabitants live surrounded by wonderful scenery, beautiful landscapes, and territories rich in natural resources, many of them being visited by tourists who are looking for some adventure or just to relax from their duties. In this context, we agree that the best way to protect this scenery is given when their inhabitants satisfy their primary necessities, are able to get access to educational support and are awared of the beauty that comes from breathing fresh air, seeing the river coming down from the mountains’ summit, crowned with snow and hiding their peaks into the clouds. Nonetheless, to solve any problem, the first step is to hear the ones who are having that problem. It’s better to invest in the development of highland’s towns, than to waste a fortune in combating a terrorist attack, which is the consequence of misery and forgetfulness. This project, Cordilleras Hermanas, is a great opportunity to demonstrate Oneness as something fundamental and easy. It’s an opportunity to demonstrate that cultures and sceneries from highlands belong to the whole planet, as our cities belong to them too. Therefore, it is our responsibility to take care not only of highland’s towns, as this project is intended to do, but also for our own homes. We must be aware of Who We Are and When we are demonstrating that Who –that we say, individually, that we have chosen. We are looking for your support, as well as contribution from those institutions and people engaged with peace. If we, as species, do not take care of those of us who are dying in the furthest towns, like those in the highlands, we’ll pay for our forgetfulness by wasting money against the existence of terrorists, rebuilding destroyed towns or cities, migrations, destruction of resources, lost of life perspectives from those who live in these situations, new terrorists groups, etcetera. Cordilleras Hermanas is looking for a sense of brotherhood, of Good-Will that demonstrates that no matter what the distance is when the goal is to unify and cooperate for the welfare of those who life in these mountains. Then, you will know that welfare not only is a charitable act, but also a statement of Who You Are. A statement that says: Hey, I AM That, who is helping my brothers in the highlands. |
