Guidelines for manuscripts:

Scientific knowledge exchange, which is of upmost importance in Natural and Experimental Sciences like Ecology, is carried out regularly throughout the publication of articles in specialized scientific magazines, the by-excellence medium to circulate new scientific knowledge. 

 Ecología Aplicada, published by the Academic Department of Biology of the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina (National Agrarian University La Molina), Lima - Peru, is a genuine platform for the circulation of scientific, peer-reviewed research in Ecology.

Ecología Aplicada aims to disseminate new scientific knowledge on basic science that contributes to the progress of the universal knowledge; and, more forcefully, on applied science, oriented to the solution of local problems.  No limitations exist in the articles thematic; submitted articles will be published provided that they are related to Ecology and accepted for publication. 

This magazine meets all the main characteristics required to fulfill its mission of scientific divulgation: publishing quality, protection of authors’ rights, dissemination of innovative research articles and legal deposit for preservation and access of the printed issue that assures the stability of the material trusted.

Quality is guaranteed through the work of the Editor Board formed by distinguished experts. Evaluation of the submitted manuscripts is performed by highly qualified reviewers, under anonymous conditions, selected according to the investigation topic.

 EDITORIAL BOARD

Protection of author’s rights and research information are secured for the printed version by its International Standard Series Number (ISSN 1726-2216).  The law of Legal Deposit 26905 of the National Library of Peru, with registration number 2002-5474, preserves and provides long term access to Peru’s bibliographical patrimony at national and international level. The long-term preservation and access that assure the stability of the information are guaranteed through its registration in the Directory and Catalogue Latindex (http://www.latindex.unam.mx) that includes an extense number of scientific (academic  and of academic-interest) magazines, and informs about a magazine path, thematic specialization, publishing agency, database coverture and distribution procedures.  Ecología Aplicada has been evaluated by the Selection Committee of the General Direction of Latin-American Libraries and Hemerotheques in Mexico and accepted for its inclusion, abstracted and indexed, in the database Periódica.  It has also been evaluated and included in the Academic database project EBSCO Latin-American Magazines that supplies information of selected periodic serial publications to libraries of the entire world.  It is abstracted and indexed as well in the database Zoological Record, Net of Scientific Magazines of Latin America and the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal in social sciences and humanities (RED ALYC), Academic database Thomson Gale in Spanish, SCIELO - Peru.  These indexations agents supply us with periodic indicators about consultations to our publication. 

Ecología Aplicada has an interactive web page, where abstracts of the articles are presented in two languages, contributing, this way, to an up-to-date discussion of interesting newer research topics in the science of Ecology. 

A printed version, in an edition of 1 000 copies, at low cost, affordable to students, is distributed to all of Peru’s university libraries and Ecology-related research institutions.  The magazine brings to light Ecology-related scientific activity in Peru and other Latin-American countries, and at the same time, and offers an opportunity to peruse the scientific endeavors of publishing authors. 

 Each issue of ECOLOGÍA APLICADA generally features peer-reviewed Research Articles, Scientific Notes and Reviews.
